The processpressure is transmitted hydrostatically tothe measurement cell via the pressuretransfer fluid. This device is used for applications inwhich a standard pressure connectioncould become blocked, clogged orfrozen by the particular medium used. Further applications include processeswhere the medium changes regularlyand any residues could cause mixingor contamination of the media, or inhighly viscous media. Intended areas ofapplication are, for example, the oil andgas industry, in mines or in locations with high levels of dust, e.g. in mills.
